I love the ooni basic recipe
600g flour ( I used 00 and strong bread 50/50 mix)
300ml tepid water
7g fast yeast
Pinch salt.
All mixed in a kenwood that’s older than me!
Leave in warm place for 4 hours covered to rise, Then knock back down and split into dough balls and then leave covered for another 2hrs.

I probably have the same Kenwood but it's not older than me.

You are all brilliant, I really want something that requires a bit of kneading to get the kids working. This is all because my daughter has bought a pizza oven (dare not ask what's wrong with ordinary oven).
I think I'm going to try some myself before involving grandkids. I wil try with yeast again too.
I knew you'd help me. X

There is a simple recipe using yogurt and flour, that might be easier for your grandchildren to make.

I made my first ones on Friday night, for 7 of us, it worked a treat… jamie Oliver’s basic pizza. It was lush!
But my over was running at 250 for about an hour… a pizza Oven would have cooked the lot in 10-15 mins. Lol

I know it’s cheating but you can buy ready made pizza dough at Waitrose. All you need to do is kneed for a bit and then roll. Works really well and the children love doing it and adding the toppings.

instead of cooking in the oven, use the grill instead (and a pizza stone or cast iron pan preheated on the hob), you get much better results...

Basic things to remember with yeast:
You should keep it away from salt
Only mix with tepid (for comparison i would say slightly cooler than a baby’s bottle) liquid.
Even the powdered stuff needs to be fairly fresh - if you’ve still got some you opened months ago, it probably isn’t much use.
Hope that helps. I love using yeast - it’s sort of magical

The easiest pizza dough you will ever find (and delicious too):

Equal quantities of self raising flour and fat free plan yoghurt

I usually have 90g of each, mix together and roll out - enjoy!
