Newbie -14 day plus trip and g parents in the mix

Hello - We are new! 4 of us heading out to WDW. Thinking of using the 14 day offer for 7 days. 14 days of on site Disney - wondering of we change hotel halfway through to have parents join...

Can G parents get ad hoc tickets for days they may want to go to the park ( or use ours if we are staying at the hotel) or will a 7 day ticket for them work out better anyway if they want to come to the parks?

Not sure if we are going to do universal. youngest not into H P yet and may return at a later date for that kind of stuff

Alternatively, as the 14 day pass lasts 18 days, when the g parents come out we could stay at a universal hotel midway, before returning to Disney for the lat 7 days.

Anyone done this kind of splitting/moving/gparent mix? Horror stories? Happy memories?

Not been for a couple of years due to pandemic but last time we were there (Dec 19) you could buy single day tickets but do not know if this has changed. However, you cannot lend your ticket to others as it was fingerprint scanner at the gate to enter.

done diy 5 days disney rest on i drive, if you have a car it gives you options, if your on a package might be expensive to have 2 rooms on the go.

you can buy tickets over there a variety of options the 14 day deal are uk tickets and they can only be used by you, no one else can use them , ie fingerprints checks , magic bands, not much in the difference in 7 and 14 day tickets really

if your Gp are getting on a bit and your going in august take into account the heat and humidity and take it easy and go slow
