Day 9 - Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza, The Daily Poutine, Casey's Corner

We went to Disney Springs for lunch today but both fancied different things. I wanted a pizza again so first up was Blaze. I got a Build Your Own Pizza, a large drink and a S'more's Pie for J. This cost $19.

J wanted to try poutine so we headed round to The Daily Poutine. He just got the regular Canadian one for $10.11.

We were at Magic Kingdom this evening for Enchantment and Extended Evening Hours so decided to get dinner at Casey's Corner. Both of us went for the All-Beef Foot Long Hot Dog with fries and a large drink to share. These hot dogs are huge, I wanted to share but J didn't so we ended up getting one each. It was way too much, I ended up leaving more than half of mine. This meal cost $29.26.

After the fireworks we bought a bottle of coke for $4.50.

Day 9 $62.87
Total so far - $609.66

Day 10 - Lotus Blossom Cafe, Gideon's Bakehouse & Chicken Guy

We had lunch today at Lotus Blossom Cafe in the China pavillion at Epcot. Both of us got the Orange Chicken Combo and a large drink to share for $35.14. I wasn't that impressed with this although I've eaten hear a few times before and enjoyed it.

We went to Disney Springs again this evening. I was desperate to try some Gideon's cookies so as soon as we arrived we headed to Gideon's Bakehouse to join the queue. The line was long but we only ended up waiting about 30 minutes. Which is ridiculous for a cookie but it was worth it 😂 we got a chocolate chip cookie, double chocolate chip cookie and a slice of salted caramel cake. This cost $22.36.

They were amazing. Hands down the best cookie I've ever eaten. They're huge though, even J said we should have shared. We ended up eating half and saving the rest for the next day.

Same with the cake, we tried some once we'd got back to the room but finished it over the next couple of days. I won't bother getting the cake from here again. It was way too rich and sickly for me.

For dinner we went Chicken Guy. Our first time here and I liked it, although it was nothing special. Both of us got the Five Tender Combo for $29.75.

Day 10 -$87.24
Total so far - $696.90

Day 11 - Woody's Lunch Box, Ronto Roaster's & Beaches and Cream

We were in Hollywood Studios today and unsprisingly we both fancied different things for lunch. I wanted to try a Raspberry Lunch Box Tart so we went to Woody's Lunch Box. This cost $4.57 and was bigger than I was expecting. It was nice and kept me full until dinner.

J wanted a Ronto Wrap again because he enjoyed it so much the other day. As it was early we were able to get it from Ronto Roaster's this time. The cost was $18.61 for the wrap and a large fountain drink.

We had a reservation for Beaches and Cream tonight which I was really looking forward to. I've never been before but had heard good things about it. Unfortunately we both found it a bit of a let down. I know it's a busy restaurant, and because it's popular they want you in and out fast. But we felt very rushed by our server and he wasn't particularly helpful. My card was declined while trying to pay the bill - this has happened a few times on this trip whenever it's been swiped, everyone else has been fine when I've explained to use the chip. But this server just wasn't getting it and wouldn't use the chip!? Very annoying. We got there in the end however.

J and I both ordered the French Dip Sandwich - I had mine without the Swiss. J also got a milkshake and we ordered the Fudge Mud Slide to share for dessert. The food was just OK, I wouldn't rush to eat here again. The dessert was very nice though.

Our bill came to $61.02 and we left a $10 tip.

Day 11 - 94.20
Total so far - $791.1

Day 12 Colombia Harbour House, Gaston's Tavern, Storybook Treats, Sunshine Tree Terrace & Miller's Ale House

Our last day at Disney today and we spent the day in Magic Kingdom. For lunch we went to Colombia Harbous House. I got Chicken Strips ($9.99) and J got the Lobster Roll ($16.99). We shared a drink and the total was $32.98.

We were planning a late dinner tonight so later in the afternoon we decided to grab a snack to keep us going. J wanted a Warm Cinnamon Roll from Gaston's Tavern. This was $6.92.

I wanted an ice cream so we went over to Storybook Treats. I got the Heigh Ho Sunday for $7.49.

Later on we were waiting for our Genie+ time to open up so stopped by Sunshine Tree Terrace to get a Strawberry Dole Whip Float. This was amazing as always and cost $6.38.

We were checking out of the Dolphin today and moving over to the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando. We didn't end up getting to our room til 10:30pm. We were tired, hungry and couldn't be bothered going out anywhere for dinner. As we were only over the road from Miller's Ale House we ordered some food online to take away and brought it back to our room. We got far too much food and half of it ended up going to waste. This cost $50.

Day 12 - $103.77
Total so far - $894.87

Day 13 - Lard Lad Donuts & Denny's

Today was our first day in Universal Studios. It was insanely busy so we didn't get much done. It even took us a while to get our tickets sorted as we were stood in the wrong line for 30 minutes! Straight away we headed to Lard Lad Donuts to share a Big Pink Donut for lunch. This cost $8.50. I love these and make sure to get one during every trip.

We also decided to buy a refillable mug for $18.10. I had intended to bring the one from our last trip to reactive but we forgot to pack it.

After Universal we went to Denny's for dinner. I think we both got the Build Your Own Slam and a coke. I'm sure J got a milkshake too but I can't find any photos of that. We really enjoyed this and our server was lovely. Our total bill including tip was $38.24.

After Denny's we popped into Walgreens to pick up some drinks and snacks for the room. We spent $20.79

Day 13 - $85.63
Total so far - $980.50

Day 14 - Fire Eater's Grill, Thunder Falls Terrace, Voodoo Doughnut, Panda Express

We had an early start today as we were checking into Royal Pacific Resort for the night. Breakfast was just something in the room at the Rosen Inn before we left.

I ended up getting my lunch at Fire Eater's Grill in Islands of Adventure. It was a rainy day and there was nowhere to sit undercover so I had to sit and eat in the pouring rain. I went for the Chicken Stingers Combo which cost $13.62.

It was quite nice - would have been better if it wasn't all wet and soggy. We also reactivated our mug from yesterday for $11.71.

J wanted a Turkey Leg so we walked around to Thunder Falls Terrace to grab him one. I know a lot of people love these but the smell makes me feel a bit ill! This cost $14.87.

Once our room was ready we decided to leave the park for a couple of hours and relax. We went via Voodoo Doughnuts. We tried to mobile order but it wasn't working on either of our phones so just joined the regular queue. We got 6 doughnuts for $14.86.

After having a rest in the room we headed back out to Islands of Adventure in the evening. We had a great night and stayed til the park closed. We were hungry so decided to head to City Walk for some dinner. We both wanted to try Panda Express, the queue was insane though! We ended up waiting about 40 minutes. It was worth it though, we both really enjoyed this. I think we both chose 3 entrees, I can't really tell from the photos. Again we shared a large drink and the cost was $27.54.

Day 14 - $82.60
Total so far - $1063.1

Day 15 - Mel's Drive-In & Panda Express

Today was our last day in Orlando and we spent the day in Universal Studios again. Breakfast was the doughnuts we had left from yesterday as we walked over. Straight away we reactivated our refillable mug again for $11.71.

It was a busy one today - we ended up queuing for 45 minutes at Mel's Drive-In to order. I went for the Grilled Chicken Sandwich Platter and J ordered the Chicken Fingers Platter. Total was $26.07. This was fine, just typical theme park food.

We went over to Islands of Adventure in the evening for the last couple of hours. On our way out we decided to each buy a snack to take back to the hotel. J got the Cat In The Hat Cupcake and I can't remember what mine was called but it looks like a Brookie? I don't have the exact price but I think the 2 of them cost around $10.

For dinner we ended up in Panda Express again because we enjoyed it so much last night. I didn't get photos day as I think we got exactly the same as last night - I may have got 2 entrees this time instead of 3. We filled up our mug in City Walk instead of buying a drink and the total cost was $22.53.

Day 15 - $70.31
Total spend - $1133.41

So our total spend on food and drinks over the 15 days was $1133.41 or $75.56 per day / $37.78 per person per day.

I'm quite happy with that. We have a trip in May booked with the dining credit offer and I was worried it wouldn't cover most of our food spends. But after going through this I'm confident the $671 along with the $200 gift card should easily cover food for our 11 night stay, especially with the odd meal off-site or at Universal.

Wow brilliant thread... I know it can be done 'cheap' but seeing is it is brilliant. I did see a thread where the publix shop was horrendously expensive and that made me worry but this is really interesting to read.w
Well done! I hope you have a wonderful time in May and also do a trip report 😊
