Genuine question revWDW and active shooter

Is there any kind of public awareness of a preparedness plan of active shooter being onsite?

I'm not posting to create fear and loathe.its a genuine question

Thank you for your time

I've never seen anything. I know Universal have everyone walk through metal detectors with a large (visible) security presence. Can't recall if we walk through ones at Disney. I'm aware of guns being confiscated at bag check.
Don't really know what the plan would be - it's too open, too many places for someone to hide. I don't want to scare anyone but I don't think you can actually do anything?
There are probably plenty of undercover armed police around to take out a threat as quickly as possible.

We've often discussed the possibility of something happening at WDW. A Florida friend say's when she goes to a new venue or cinema, she always always checks out where her nearest exit is,in case of a shooter 😳

its not possible to stop it , security is at the front gates , so do it on the boat across the lagoon, if they put security there, do it in the carpark .
All you can do is keep your wits about you , react and hope for the best .
Sorry I cant be more optimistic

The Orlando Pulse nightclub shooter had apparently been sizing up different places (according to the subsequent investigation). One of the places he had visited in the weeks leading up to the shooting was Disney Springs, I guess there is much less security, no bag checks, no detectors etc. Scary.

I suppose others might be armed too? Not as innocent as a school room.

Disney Springs has the same metal scanners as the parks now. Whichever way you enter you have to pass through one.

Here I was thinking by staying on-site it would be more safe. I would have thought security would be very high especially after 9/11. I think most people watching the news would maybe think it would never happen in Disney or to them.

It’s very hard because on one side you don’t want to be in that situation but then you don’t want to life in fear.

Does everyone pass through one now? Last time we were there in 2019 they would just pick random guests to go through them after bag check.
