Some decent deals in the separate alcohol room (last time we went their 1.75litre Kirkland rum was <$15 whereas in the UK is £38)

Can you get into US Costco stored without a membership? I think you used to be able to pay something like a $10 day fee.

Bit of an update on this - I dropped into Costco Sarasota today and enquired about creating a US card based on my UK one so I can use it for Costco.com. It’s not an option any more. I would need to apply for a US card, with proof of ID and qualified items (pay slips, proof of employer etc) and pay the annual fee. Being UK members is no guarantee of acceptance.

I’ve no intentions of paying two memberships so will stick to in warehouse shopping only but thought it was worth updating everyone.

I made the mistake of going to that one once. It is "Business store". Luckily they did have the printer I needed but it is really more like a traditional cash and carry for small restaurants etc.

The one in Winter Park is a traditional store like the Millenia one.

US membership is not based on employment requirements, yes you need a ID (it may have to be a US ID with a US address, I am not sure?) but, unlike in the UK, you DO NOT need to provide professional qualifications, pay slips or proof of employment or employer.

Question... There is no Costco in Ireland but I think I read somewhere thatch you buy or a Costco member buys and gives you a gift voucher you can then go in and shop using the voucher.Any idea of this is true?

As well as Millenia, Winter Park, Altamonte there will be a new Costco warehouse in Clermont on SR50, hopefully later this year. Last time I was passing they had already started the ground works.

You don’t need to do this in the UK now. Anyone can join, just need ID, proof of address etc
