ADHD and Autism

I've done a quick search but not too many results to my questions and am hoping someone can help.

Two of my children have ADHD and we want to take their medications with us to Florida. They are both on CONCERTA XL and Methylphenidate top ups which are both controlled drugs. I have requested a letter from their paediatrician but wondered if:

a) whether that is sufficient if the medications are in original packaging from pharmacy.
b) do I have to declare the medications at customs and if so do we do it in the US and on return to the UK?

My daughter is also autistic and this will be the first time travelling to Florida since diagnosis (and finally understanding why the theme parks were always difficult!). We aren't visiting any theme parks this time but staying at Disney hotels. Do Disney provide any special help for autistic children?

Hi just take letter with you from the consultant and meds in original packaging some people also request a copy of their prescription aswell! I have never done this tho just taken meds and a letter and have 3 boys with adhd and have been to Florida 18 or so times! Never been stopped or asked about their meds make sure they r in the hand luggage and no need to stop at customs enjoy!

Hi, my son takes Concerta XL and we had no issues in 2019, just kept in original packaging which has the prescription label on it. I worried about it last time as they make such a hoo ha in the chemist here when we pick it up - keeping it in the safe etc but was absolutely no issue travelling to Florida :-)
