London Underground Saturday
Hi
we are arriving into Heathrow, assuming flights don’t get cancelled, Saturday morning. Will the underground be running? Are the train strikes on Saturday? |

There be reduced service something like 1 or 2 a hour where will you be going by tube as a lot of tube stations will be closed you better off booking a coach.

There is a train strike on next Saturday, but this only affects the Elizabeth Line and the Overground, as it’s not a tube strike but there are overnight strikes on the Central, Jubilee and Victoria lines. Not sure where you’re travelling to from Heathrow, but the Piccadilly line from Heathrow should be running fine.

Thanks both, staying at PI county hall, so did look at going to kings cross or Piccadilly line to Cockfosters, then changing ti circle to Westminster. I’m sure once we get there we wil figure it out. Just as long as the underground is running. Probably be between 9am and 10am

While some lines won’t be striking it’ll be hell as there will be knock on effects for all train services above and under ground.
I’d book a cab or look into coaches. |

Wouldn’t a cab cost a fortune? Once we get into London we are happy to walk about and avoid underground.

I’m dreading it, but we are in no rush, thankfully. Already had our original flights cancelled and on an earlier flight so now have added expense of overnight stay before flight so don’t want to add on anymore unnecessary expense , but also means we have all day to get to hotel if we need to.
Thanks for the advice. |

For the peace of mind youve done the right thing. Im a maintenance railway worker (different union to the one thats striking) and even we dont know how much it will effect things. They are publishing preliminary timetables based on contracted in staff.
Its crazy but we are not allowed to ask who is even in a union, never mind to find out who is striking. Expect a massively reduced and busy service, pre-book a taxi if you can. To add to the confusion, the strike times are 00:01 - 23:59 - but if your shift starts before that time you must start and complete your full shift. it will be the signalling staff that will effect it the most, again, we dont know until the day who will turn up (there are remote working stations for staff who wish to work but not cross a picket line).
