Last time we went I ride the coasters but mainly with my eyes shut !
Are you all saying that you are literally held in by your legs ?

The restraint is very similar to Mako at Seaworld if you've been on that, I personally found I had more airtime on Mako than I did velocicoaster, however Velocicoaster still sits at number 2 on my ride list for Orlando It's honestly amazing and over before you know it, super smooth and very fun!

I didn’t ride it at Xmas but DH and DS loved it so when hubby and I went again last month he talked me onto it and I was so scared! I think as I am bigger I find myself paranoid about restraints not fitting me well and it wasn’t that long after the incident at Icon park so when I was coming out of the seat I honestly thought I was going to fall out! I was clinging on for dear life and almost in tears when we stopped and DH told me he was out of his seat and that it isn’t just because I am overweight! It was irrational really, I have done all the coasters in all the parks and the same in the U.K., I don’t know quite what rattled me with this one!

Excited about Disney

But at the moment her biggest ride has been Vampire at Chessington so im a little nervous she is going to back out after a long queue (at least I assume we could then use the child swap room). The plan is to build her up on the mountains, guardians and Rock & Rollercoaster so at least she has some experience of bigger rides first.
It was my 11 year olds first time in Florida and the biggest rode she had ever done was vampire, she did in this order Everest, big thunder, space mountain, seven dwarves, rock and roll coaster, guardians, Mako, hagrids, rip ride. But didn’t want to do hulk or velocicoaster as she was worried about going upside down. She loved all the ones she went on

Dd is 11 and she’s done space mountain in Paris which has 3 inversions but I’m quite nervous about her on velocicoaster as she’s only a slight little thing 😬
No chance to work our way up this trip as universal parks are before our Disney bit ..

The thrill of the ride is thinking or feeling like you are going to fall out. Obviously you won’t but that’s the scary part of it.

With just the waist restraint, you'd wonder how it holds you in so securely? My daughter is 7, meets (and exceeds the height requirement) and is dying to do it. I'm happy enough to ride myself, but will worry about her slipping out!

Our first ride was in the dark just before park closing, then it went tech half way round. Didn’t mind too much as it then meant we got a ticket to skip the queue for Hagrids (actually any attraction but Hagrids always has the longest wait) the next day and we rode velo with just a half hour queue. (Posted at 45mins) Great ride.
