Anyone noticed clothes increasing in cost?

I bought 2 bras in store at M&S (not keen on fitting rooms at the best of times) and in a moment of self doubt thought I would order the next size up online after trying them on the next day. Price in store £16 - same model next size up £18! Definitely same M&S model number/design.

Think I’m the only business going that hasn’t put their prices up since 2020 🫣

Yes absolutely ridiculous ,I was looking on the NEXT VIP sale last night ,some of the stuff was dreadful and expensive, their basic T shirts which have been about £10 forever were anything up to £25.
I set myself a target not to buy clothes this year but have started to look at stuff for a holiday at the end of the year ,crazy prices.
Some clothes are such poor quality now if you put your hand inside you can see straight through them ( M and S leggings for one).

My local charity warehouse used to be a huge place for bargain clothes ,recently they had a NEXT blouse all stretched out of shape for £15.

If your costs go up you must eventually put up your prices. Some of my stock increased in price by 50% in two months. I normally put up my prices every other year, so far I have increased them 4 times since January increasing by about 10% in total.

I haven't bought any new clothes in the last 10 years - I look upon clothes shopping as I do the dentist. If it fits and is neat and tidy then I'm happy.

Next prices are getting silly, and not just that I have been wearing their basic leggings for years and this year the price has gone up and they have changed the style and quality is now terrible.

That sounds like what Marks and Spencer did years ago and it is really disappointing to find out that what you had in the past bought was suddenly different for whatever reason - quality appears to be a common bugbear.

Oddly after my opening comment about the cost increase I received and email from M&S Sparks card to say for a limited time bras were 15% off!
