Should be fine, although if it was us we would possibly go earlier.
But we have been known to turn up six hours early for a flight😂

That should normally be fine. Overseas highway has lots of 1 lane carriageways and ever changing speed limits - down to 30mph in places. Once on the mainland traffic generally moves better.

We drove mco- key west in May. Fortunately no congestion around miami which we were expecting as it was the grand prix weekend

We're still undecided whether we will go via Miami or though the Everglades. I know one is much longer than the other. But I figure the latter will have somewhere interesting to stop.

I've never done that deliberately. We've had a few time where transfers have been at stupid times in the morning with our flights being in the later afternoon. I think 1 year accounting for the time spend on the transfers, time sat at the airports and flights. It would have been quicker to drive.

I've got some buffer time around car drop off. I'm hoping it's plenty of time.
