Disney still banning borrowing of more than 50%
i am still unhappy with this temp policy which seems to be very permanent.
This is a rotten thing and it stops us booking better resorts and rooms and the like because we cant borrow all the points needed that should be available. What really annoys me is that i cant use my own points but DVC will happily rent me 24 of their own which i would have to pay extra for. That is not an acceptable situation This is not good enough , i would sell up tomorrow but DW wont be having that. The DVC thing is no where near as attractive as it used to be and a lot of the changes over the last few years are more negative that positive for me

I think it's flying under the radar, it's most obviously an issue for international owners not sure how much it affects US ones but I agree, all "extra" points finished in May so no excuse!

I have a feeling it will be dropped in weeks. If not, certainly by the end of this year. The ice that policy sits on is incredibly thin now...

Hopefully it’s with the best intentions. It was 100% necessary due to the points glut. I’m first to criticise Disney but thought they handled the DVC coronavirus issues pretty well.
Hopefully the data is still showing excess points rather than them now doing it under covid and keeping it in place like so many other companies where covid policies strangely seem to become permanent. Obviously it would suit Disney for members to have not enough points now and have to buy more but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt currently. Next year I’ll be more sceptical.

If they ever go back to 100% borrowing and that's a big if I suspect they will step up to 75% first as opposed to just ditching the restriction.

Just been told by a member of the Dis that following maintenance on the DVC website today, all borrowing restrictions are being lifted.
Anybody else heard this?

Hmmmm but the booking website still has the borrowing restriction notice showing, so I guess it might not be true ☹️

I have just gone into DVC and it no longer mentions about restrictions on borrowing points.
