Closest beaches to Kissimmee?
Would like to visit a beach whilst staying at our villa, it don’t want to drive too far.
One that has easy parking and nice restaurants would be good too! Tia

Melbourne beach is nice but Cocoa Beach is definitely quicker to get to via tbe 528 toll road.

Clearwater is a longer drive but much better - water is warmer and swimming is safer. Plus far more facilities.

I would always head West to the Gulf.
The water is warmer. The sea is generally calmer. Shark attacks are practically unheard of. I would look to Anna Maria Island or Fort de Soto. Volusia County has a particularly high rate of shark bites. This is the area N of Kennedy Space centre and up towards Daytona Beach.!

We have done both De Soto and AMI (and Caspersen) as day trips. We have never visited Clearwater. All can be reached in 2.5 hours. AMI is 114 miles. That to me is very much a day trip!
We have visited Cocoa, Smyrna and Daytona on day trips the other way. We have never had issues with Algae or other pollution. It really is a case of what one seeks. Edited at 04:13 PM. |
