California April 2022 Food/Trip Report

Hi all and welcome to my food report!
After two cancelled trips (2020 & 2021), and third time lucky, we finally made it to California in April!

A total of 9 nights made up of:
12th - 16th at SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim
16th - 20th at Hilton Universal City
20th - 21st at Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica

We flew British Airways Manchester to Heathrow, then Heathrow to LAX. Some slight delays due to ground staff but nothing too extreme. I love flying and really enjoyed our flights in Club World.

Here was our meal on the internal flight:

Our seat on the long flight:

British Airways Club World food menu:

British Airways Club World wine menu:

Main meal (fish pie):

Second meal (lighter one - chicken and gnocchi):

I hope you enjoy our report! Happy to answer any questions

Looks great. We have club world seats in December to Phoenix and it’s great to see some decent food again.
Have a great trip.

The food was lovely! The fish pie was something resembling what you'd receive in a nice British pub, and the gnocchi wasn't overcooked which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you

Day 1 - Disneyland California!

Day 1!

The hotel is in a great location and we can walk to Disneyland in 15 minutes. We had an early start as we wanted to be at the park for opening to go to Galaxy's Edge. And we did indeed!

Straight on Rise of the Resistance... what an amazing ride! I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan but I was so impressed. I'll not give any spoilers but will leave this photo right here...

After ROTR, Smugglers Run and walking round the land, we decided that it was time for breakfast at Ronto Roasters. This I highly recommend. I went for the Ronto-less Garden Wrap which was Plant-based Sausage, spicy Kimchi Slaw, sweet Pickled Cucumber, Plant-based Gochujang Spread, wrapped in Pita. This was delicious! My family all went for the Ronto Morning Wrap which was Scrambled Eggs, Grilled Pork Sausage, Shredded Cheddar, Peppercorn Sauce, wrapped in Pita. They all loved theirs too! This was washed down with 3 coffees and 1 Tatooine Sunset.

After looking at some impressive lightsabers and the millennium falcon, we decided it was time to try the blue and green milk. We tried both separate then mixed them together. I suggest mixing together.

We did decide to purchase Disney Genie+ for $20pp. This actually got us a total of 7 rides each on this day, so we felt like this was worth it. We spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon riding Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Winnie the Pooh, Jungle Cruise and Pirates.

Next... LUNCH TIME

We went to Harbour Galley and ate a nice lunch by the water around 2pm. It was a good time to eat as it was quiet. Mum and dad had a tuna sandwich and my brother and I had a lobster mac and cheese bowl which was incredible. We found the food to be good value for money, fresh and filling.

I will continue the day on a second post...

Day 1 - Disneyland California!

Day 1 continued...

The afternoon and early evening was spent in both Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. We managed to ride everything we wanted to.

We had a little snack early evening which was in the form of a Mickey premium bar. What's a holiday without ice cream?!

We were actually still that full from lunch that nobody wanted any dinner. We did however have a spot reserved for Oga's Cantina so it was back to Galaxy's Edge we go...

We had a selection of cocktails and mocktails. We were stood at the bar. The theming is fantastic! Definitely a must do for any Star Wars fans.

The rest of the evening was spent watching the fireworks show on Main Street and looking through the shops. I couldn't leave however without picking up a rice krispie treat.

So that's the end of our first magical day at Disneyland California. Over 23,000 steps later it was time for bed.

Best ride of the day = Rise of the Resistance
Best meal = Lobster Mac and Cheese at Harbour Gallery

I actually loved everything I ate on this day. Happy to answer any questions

Hope you enjoyed our first day!

Did you do ILL for ROR or standby?

Also, what did you think of Harbor Galley? I had read some reports which thought the lobster was poor quality.

Finally do you think of Ogas? Is it worth the money?
