Blue Planet Aquarium/ Cheshire Oaks
Are we mad thinking of going here on a Saturday coming from Fylde.
We are staying overnight on the Wirral to play golf on Sunday so wondering what to do.I

Better places to go imo but depends what you like to do! Chester Zoo, Chester itself, Liverpool, Llangollen and Pontcysyllte viaduct is amazing!

I went to Cheshire Oaks on a Friday and didn't find it too busy as the shops are quite spread out and plenty of parking. I had spent the day at Chester Zoo so didn't arrive until about 4.30pm, wandered round some shops and then went to Ed's Diner for burger and shakes. I didn't go to the Aquarium as our son has been and felt it wasn't worth the money. I would definitely recommend Chester Zoo if you've never been before.
I also went for a drive to Wallasey Beach on the Saturday after picking up a picnic at a nearby Asda and that was a pleasant walk along the sea front. Edited at 09:42 PM. |

Thanks both. We can't now set off until lunchtime so too late for Chester Zoo. Have been before but not for years. Will have to do that another time.
May just scrap the idea and just go to New Brighton and then onto the hotel.

I find Cheshire Oaks busier on a Sunday than a Saturday. If the car parks are looking very busy then drive onto the retails park at the back of it. There is always parking behind what used to be Debenhams.
Edited to add: it’s open until 9pm on Saturday and will be much quieter on an evening. Mowgli is lovely if you are looking for somewhere to eat. Edited at 09:59 PM. |
