I am also staying at the Anaheim Hotel - first time visit to Disneyland. It is about 8-10 minutes walk from the gates with an Olympic size pool which swung it for me

Sorry for the abbreviation! Villas at the Grand Californian, which is the DVC section at the GC, the closest onsite Disneyland hotel to the parks (it has its own entrance directly into the DCA park).

VGC is Villas Grand California. Its a separate wing of The Grand California Hotel just for DVC (Disney Vacation Club) which is a timeshare program.

To stay there you either have to be part of the time share program or rent from someone who is a member.

There is a very small amount of DVC villas available at Grand California Hotel compared to Walt Disney World.
They book up about 11 months in advance.

Staying at Grand California Hotel, either in the hotel side or the DVC side is hugely expensive and over priced.

As it happens I agree with you that it’s over priced but many people do not agree

It’s a wonderful place to stay, a definite step up from the deluxe hotels at WDW. But I’d rather spend the money on other things
