Does anyone know whether BA allow them as hand luggage? We are flying from Tampa. Thanks.

When I got mine, I took the blade out of the hilt, left the blade in the foam carry bag, folded the case top part down, and it fit in my large case diagonally, with not much room to spare. Then I just packed my case around it and as it’s still in its foam carry bag, it was quite secure.

A few folk on the same flight as me just checked them in packed in those soft carry cases - the TUI check in staff said they are careful with them - but I wouldn’t risk it (plus you don’t know how they will be handled at your destination airport).

We flew BA few weeks back and we carried them on as hand luggage, they didn't even question it. We had two.

Not sure of exact size as it’s in the loft, but it’s the large Tripp case
