Universal AP Confusion - T&Cs/Activation Date
I'm looking at purchasing a Universal Premier AP purchase now for a couple of vacations in 2023 but I appear to have confused myself with reading the T&Cs on the Universal website as there seems to be conflicting information ... or it may be just me overcomplicating things!
As far as I understand it, the AP is only activated once you first pass through the turnstiles: "The 2-Park Premier Annual Pass entitles one (1) guest admission [..] for a one (1) year period beginning and including the first day this pass is used". That sounds straightforward enough but then further down it states that "Annual Pass benefits are valid on a calendar year basis" and that "Universal Orlando Resort Passholder benefits and discounts are valid Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2022, unless otherwise noted". Where I'm struggling is how it can be valid for 12 months from activation but 'pass benefits' only being valid during this (or any other) calendar year as that wouldn't correspond with any activation date. Can anyone else please fathom exactly what they mean before I commit any hard-earned ... do all of the benefits beyond simply park admission start at activation too? Edited at 01:43 AM. |

The benefits include blackout dates, concerts etc etc and run for a calendar year. This may change year to year
Your AP starts from date of activation . Mine started 6 Dec 2021 so benefits from that year applied and then this year though i only have the season pass

It is the end part of this I am struggling to make sense of...
So the tickets apply from activation date... and the benefits of that year start. But what benefits apply to the following year - so for you that would be 2022. Do the benefits for 2021 apply, or does it now use the benefits from 2022 - or are there simply no benefits and it just gets you in to the park? It really strange as you are hoping that you can use the tickets for the following year, but yet you can't see things like the blackout dates for next year yet. |

The 2022 benefits would apply. The Blackout dates are easy to predict - just look at previous years and plot when Easter/Thanksgiving/Xmas are.

the premier doesnt have blockout dates
So currently there is this benefit Save up to 30%++ off base rates plus enjoy a free single car class upgrade at Budget® and Avis® this may not be applicable in 2023 but your pass will still be valid

no it would be the benefits for 2023 which could be the same or not.
Most likely the ones in universal will stay the same but other things may change like the car hire

No it will be whatever rates they have for 2023, the system would need to be set up to know every year that someone bought an AP otherwise.
To the Op, consider hanging on as Universal often run a 15 for 12 deal, previous years there was a use by date but not on the most recent ones. SD

Not sure on all benefits, stay discounts you can book & you just need to have the AP at check in but I do know for ticket discounts you actually have to have activated the AP.
