Canada!
I’m finally going to Canada on the 22nd August for 8 nights, flying thro the 9th night. Sons second wedding where lots of people have dropped out of, it will be small but fun I hope 🤞 I have to make sure we’ve got nhs passes and done Eta for everyone. I also have to download some info on a app that I haven’t done yet, I think they can randomly test you and ask you to quarantine if you’re Covid positive. Quarantine is for 10 days and we are there for 8 so don’t know how that works. 🤷
Do we have to wear masks on the plane and walking around, I have just a niggly feeling we won’t get there, or one of us will be positive and get tested. My sisters coming and came down with Covid yesterday so hoping she’ll be normal before we leave. I hate all the added worry of being tested and having to add info before travelling, I have anxiety but am not stressed atm because I just don’t think we will get there. Travelling now Covid is here has zapped all the joy out of travel! Can anyone who’s been put my mind at rest? Be kind please 🙏

We were there a couple of weeks ago. Just make sure you upload everything into the ArriveCAN app, covid passes and eta etc, and you should be good. The random testing was on hold when we went so I can't really help with that part, hopefully you wont get called, we had to test anyway as we were boarding a cruise when we got there, so knew we were ok, might be worth doing just for your own peace of mind?
We absolutely had to wear masks on the way there, required by Canada, so make sure you all have some, was required in the airport when we arrived too, but otherwise not, apart from again in the cruise terminal.

Getting Excited

We are in Canada now having arrived last Wednesday. The Arrivecan app can be completed from 72 hours (I think) before your flight. It was a case of scanning the QR codes on our vaccine certificates and declaring we had no covid symptoms. You also have the option of doing your customs declaration then too if you wish.
We flew with BA into Vancouver and masks were enforced on the plane. We have not worn them since. An email is meant to be sent, if you have been selected for random testing, 15 minutes after arrival although I have read of it being slightly longer. They are only apparently testing 5% of arrivals so a very small number. We were luckily not selected but I had researched where to get the test done if one of us was as it is not done in the airport any longer. I also tried to stay away from people a few days before flying but that was nigh on impossible. I have to say it did worry me before we got here but once we were out of the airport with no email received I felt better. 5% is a small number so I have my fingers crossed you will also be OK 🤞 |

Does anyone know if the random testing applies to people transiting through? Flying into Toronto tomorrow on our way to Orlando... no clue about where to test etc... if we've to quarantine in Toronto for 10 days no clue what we'll do!
