activating dining credit

Ive had my gift card emailed to me as a digital barcode, am I correct in thinking that the dining credit is emailed when you check in?

If you go straight to your room with mobile unlock (which we plan on doing if the room info updates on MDE) would we still need to go to reception to sort out the dining credit do you think?

Just arrived yesterday and used mobile check in. The credit was emailed to me shortly before so I didn�t have to go to sort it out.

You use the email. It was emailed to me after check in and the servers just scan the barcode.

I�m checking in when I get there as I�m picking up magicband + so I�m going to mention the dining credits while doing that.

You might have received the email with them by then. Everyone else does so I can't see it being different for you. Incidentally I'll be picking up a Magic Band when I check in too but not the + version - it would get on my nerves big time.

If you book with Disney the dining credit is emailed to you after check in. If you check in online it�s emailed when your room is ready. There�s no need to activate it, it�s a barcode and gift card number.
Please make sure you tell servers it�s a gift card though and not a dining credit. People are being told by servers they don�t take it but it�s just a gift card and I think telling them it�s a dining credit confuses them!

You can still do online check in though and potentially have the dining credit arrive before you do.
