As far as I know, the HPS is in Watford- a reasonable distance from London. As a Londoner myself, I wouldn’t plan on going there after a trip to Watford. So if you decide on just going to the studios I don’t feel your day would fall short by not going to London. Also the congestion charge is every day of the week now - so weekend visits are not as “cheap” as previously.

We did HP at October half term. We live in Leeds. We stayed over night at a Premier Inn the night before and went bowling and for dinner. We had 10.30am entry tickets to the studios and we were in HP until about 2.30pm so we had a good session out of it. On our way home we went via St Albans and had an early dinner and a walk around which was lovely. Just thought I would share for an idea for you.
