NCL Hawaii Cruise

DH and I are just back from Hawaii and are planning to return in 2018 but want to see more of the islands. We are considering a cruise but have other plans during that trip, including time to relax at Hawaii, so don't really want to do one that has a number of sea days as that will eat into time which we wanted to keep free for other plans.

Last night, I stumbled upon the NCL itinerary which is 7 days and spends 2 days at each of Maui, Big Island and Kauai, as well as starting and ending in Honolulu so takes care of our Aulani visit too, so this fits our needs beautifully.

I just wondered if anyone has done one of these itineraries and has any thoughts or feedback?

Thanks!

Interested in this too. We re planning Vegas again in 2019 and fancy tagging this on. Not sure if it's true but we've heard no casino on the ship and its a pretty big part of our cruising (both smokers) so if that's true we'd probably rule it out.

Might need to do another trip to port canaveral for the Caribbean again

We did this cruise in 2007 on the Pride of America. It's a superb itinerary overnighting in a couple of ports. We rented convertibles in most ports (Sebrings and Mustangs) to see the sights - we had a blast.
The ship has a different feel to other cruise ships because it is a US crew - some people complain service isn't as good.
A down side is that it is a relatively expensive cruise because it is the only ship doing this itinerary. Back in 2007 NCL had three ships doing the same route so there was lots of capacity which drove prices down.
It's a brilliant way to see the islands.
We had a week pre cruise in a condo overlooking Pearl Harbor so that gave us plenty of time to see Oahu.

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to head!
We were thinking of hiring a mustang/jeep at each destination too.
Cost isn't too much of a problem as long as we know!
We have just done Oahu in detail so this trip is more about spending time at Aulani and seeing the other islands!
Thanks again!

Any other reviews/thoughts welcome!

I have been looking at and debating this. I just don't know whether it would be missing a lot of the experience staying on the actual islands. E.g. evening strolls along the beach, cocktails looking out at the sunset.

We took this cruise a couple of years ago. Loved it!
Two overnight stops, got up at 4.30 am to be taken to the top of a mountain, watched the sunrise, then biked 28 miles down hill. Absolutely brilliant place and cruise!
The ship was very laid back, no dressing up for dinner, fun excursions, great mix of people onboard.
Would take the cruise again.

That's a good point...having just come back, I feel like we have covered that and also we have Aulani tentatively planned for after the cruise. The purpose of the cruise is more about seeing and experiencing the other islands and in fairness 2 days in each port seems fairly reasonable. that being said, I haven't done any reading on the other islands yet!

Great info thank you!
We're totally up for early starts, whatever we need to do to get the most of our time there!
