We return to port on the 2nd sept and I was wondering should I book a night Barcelona the day we get off the ship or just book flight home ? We have booked 2 nights prior to the cruise . For all you dibbers that have done this cruise what would u recommend.?

Hi No1 Babe

We did this cruise this summer and we flew home straight away you are off the ship early our breakfast this year was set at 0640 and then you disembark, obviously its your choice what to do.

Same here we booked a transfer from port to airport for an 1.30 flight and were home mid afternoon, again we had had a week in Barcelona / Port Aventura before.
One thing to consider is flight time if you can only get late flights then another day / night in Barcelona with a hotel will mean you are not hanging around all day with your luggage but you can enjoy Barcelona a bit more.
Have heard about luggage storage at railway station if you do have an evening flight though.

We stayed one night before the cruise and 2 nights after as that fitted in with flights to our local airport. Next time, we will fly out a day or 2 before and try and get afternoon flights on debarkation day . Much as I loved Barcelona ( it is a great city), the cruise was so amazing that it was difficult for anything to match up!

Folks , if the time to disembark the ship is 7am , would it be extremely tight to make the airport for a flight home at 10.30 am otherwise we would have to wait about until 9pm that night

We did this cruise in 2015 and loved it so much we are going again next year. The journey from Port to Airport takes about 20-30mins, so depending whether you want to check in luggage at airport or go hand luggage only, if should be no problem with that flight time.
