Has anyone ventured on to the Sea Screamer at Clearwater - it looks absolutely awesome, just need a bit of reassurance that it's going to be fun . . .

We were sitting on the beach on caladesi island 2 years ago and heard this loud roar closely followed by screaming. The screamer came up level with us but quite far out to sea. I think they were screams of joy and not terror!
It certainly moves quickly. I would have gone on it but the next few days were wet and cold.

We didnt manage to do this we went too late...so check your times.

I have friends who did this and had a great time and saw a lot od dolphins.

We went on a more traditional boat and saw a few dolphins... a nice trip but not as exhilarating(sp) as the screamer.

My hubby and son went out on a jet-ski and had a few dolphins swimming along which they were thrilled with!

We did this a couple of years ago. It was great fun. We thought we would be disappointed as we hadn't seen any dolphins but just as we were coming back in they appeared. I would recommend it.

It's a great site for trips from Orlando. We did the trip a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed iy. The best part was watching the dolphins following us in the wake of the boat. If you go on the organised trip you will have a great meal in the Hilton Hotel on the beautiful white beach at Clearwater. There is a great ice cream shop across the road owned by a very strange man, who has covered the wall with bible verses and plays religious music all day.Great ice cream-but boy is he strange.
In any case a trip worth doing

We can thoroughly recommend the trip. We took it a couple of years ago after turning up on spec and booking at the dock. We started with a cruise through the inland waterways and then when you hit open water they opened it up and 'Screamed' out into the Gulf of Mexico. Then they shut down the engines and asked us all to move to the back of the boat to make it lower in the water. This created a better wake when they started moving again; at a much slower pace this time. As soon as the wake built up the dolphins came to play in it, jumping over it and chasing after the boat. My DW is a dolphin fanatic and was beaming from ear to ear for the rest of the day.

We got some fabulous photos that I'll dig out and try to post.

Go and enjoy.

Excellent - this has convinced me to go to Clearwater for a day out rather than Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic Side. I'll let you know how we get on - the boat trips are advertised at 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm.
