Dining Plan query
Hello!
First time to WDW! Excited! We are putting a deposit down for a hotel in late April when the free dining plan deal comes out. As we will be booking a moderate hotel (hopefully Caribbean Beach Resort) am I right in thinking that the free dining plan is automatically the lowest tier (the quick service plan)? I am wanting to do the tier above which includes some table service and character buffets but as our budget doesn't stretch to a deluxe hotel can we upgrade the plan at booking and have the added difference in our payment plan? |

Hi,
We have also booked to stay in CBR, can't wait! When we booked, we got the Disney dining plan free which was quick service. We recently upgraded this to the dining plan including table service meals. You can either upgrade at the time of purchase or you can do what we did and upgrade months down the line. If you are already wanting the DDP, might as well upgrade if the price is right. I would ask the price of upgrade as ours cost just under £200 each to upgrade from QS to DDP. We were more than happy with that! Good luck |

Or you could check out SSR and OKW which class as deluxe so get the full free dining plan. For us, a studio at SSR actually cost slightly less than a room in POR updgrading the dining plan.

Yes youre right in saying that if it follows the normal pattern you get QSDP free with a moderater esort booking. I took the free dining with my booking for CBR this September, and upgraded to full DDP when I booked at end of October. The cost of the upgrade when I booked for this year was £91 per person for 7 days if you want an idea of cost

If memory serves me right, it was £13 per person per day to upgrade for 2017, from QSDP to DDP.

Thank you all for the replies! Those are very good prices considering how expensive eating at Disney is! And I am only used to Paris and eating there for 4 nights!

when we booked thomson had animal kingdom lodge at a very reasonable price, pretty much the same price as upgrading the dining plan, i would suggest doing some research though before upgrading as the cost is quite a bit so unless you're really using all of the table service credits you could be better off just paying.

We are staying at CBR and got free qsdp but upgraded to the DP. It cost £600 for 3 adults and 2 children for 14n. Was really happy with that as just to do 3 character meals would cost us more or less that and this way can have14 TS or character meals.
