Boggy Creek

Just back, we did the airboat ride on Friday AM.
IT WAS GREAT! Even out hyper cool 19 year old DD was excited by it, and we saw some cute(! ) baby gators.
The fish camp restaurant looked good too. However we didnt eat as by about the Thursday we lost the desire to ever eat again...now why does that always happen in the US! ?

This is something that DH and the kids want to do, I was very apprehensive when we went last time, but I have had my arm twisted and it is on the itinery for next year!

I expect my boys will love it, jury's still out for me and I expect I will have reservations up until I get of the boat!

Do they really do all that "skidding" on the water? Better not tell me, it may make things worse!

I am the ultimate coaster wuss and it wasn't scary at all! There is a bit of skidding but it is more exhilarating than scary. Try it, you will enjoy it!

We intend going next trip. is it OK for a 15 month old to ride?
They say for all ages and under 3's go free but I'm a bit concerned. Would he be well strapped in?

You are not strapped in but you do sit quite far down in the boat so there is I imagine very little risk of falling out,
The co. provide compulsory life jackets for children and are very safety aware. They do have website. I am sure there is a link on here somewhere?

Thanks for the reassurance!

I think I may have to bite the bullet and have a go ... the next trip is gonna be eventful, I have no excuse for not riding Kraken and The Hulk as youngest DS is now tall enough for them so I don't have to wait with him whilst DS1 and DH do the ride!

Oh well, better start psyching myself up for them now, only 253 days to do it!

Thanks Enright,
I'm sure we'll all have a great time, and if the kids play up we'll just feed 'em to the gators! ( only joking! )

Still, not too bad an idea if I remember how my DD was at that age!
Now she'd probably feed me to the gators!

It's fantastic and very safe - it's also VERY loud with that huge V8 engine at the back - but they do give you ear muffs to deaden the sound. It's a must do in my opinion, everyone has huge grins when they come off and the chance to see the wildlife is brilliant - the pilots are excellent
