Dinner shows
We wanted to take our two grandchildren aged 8 and 10 to one of the dinner shows and thought that the Pirate Dinner Adventure seemed the best bet. It has not had a good write-up in The Unofficial Guide though. Actually they do not give a good write-up for any of the dinner shows that they review.
Has anyone experienced this show and can advise us if it worth the money. Does anyone have any other advice re the dinner shows please? CeeJay |

We did Dollies Dixie Stamped, Medieval Times and Pirates a couple of weeks ago.
Dollies had the best food, second best show (a bit twee for me but kids liked it). Medieval Times Best show, pretty good food. (theres something about guys trying to kill eachother with long pointy sticks ) kids really enjoyed the sword fights. Pirates poor show.. lots of second rate singing, not enough action and very poor food. Nice setting, poor lighting and sound. Pirates was the only one I felt I'd been ripped off. We'll do Medieval Times again as both kids really got into it, however personally none of them come even slightly close to Cirque.

Thanks Carol. I'll be interested to hear how you got on at the shows. Have a great trip.
Thanks also to theFatman. Your comments are appreciated and most useful. It definitely won't be Pirates but Medieval Times is looking good. CeeJay |

hello
I can only offer my eperience of "king henrys feast" ... It was a free show with "Virgin" when we booked. We were ushered into a bar , all decked out in period style fittings , where we were allowed to get quite merry before being taken into the main dinning hall / stage area. seating was set "in the round" style all around the stage. So everyone was close to all the action. Food was not AMAZING but was very nice and only what i expected so no let down there then. Drink was on an "all you can drink for free basis" -BARGAIN! I was on the end of a table with my then fiancee , and was approached just before food by a ...ahem...busty wench and made to wear a large bib...yes...bib as in baby...which bore the words "king henrys feast chief server" I was told i had to work for my food and was elected server of the food for my table of about 8 ppl. This turned out to be a lot of fun...and gave me a sense of being part of it. Drinks were servered in large containers and you were given pewter goblets to drink out of...authentic..lol. entertainment , came in-between all the courses and on the whole was very enjoyable . jester / dancing / fire eater / sword swallower all topped off with king henry choosing his wife from the audience and then everyone having to pick sides for a battle between the blue and red knights. afterwards we had our pics taken with the above mentioned knights , sat upon a throne in period robes... Much fun was had by all... AND , one of the few times that i got totally erm... merry as a rat...ahem...out in florida as i`m not a big drinker... but really enjoyed every minute. sadly i have no other dinner show experiences to judge that one by...a fact that i`ll have to correct next time i go. We have also talked about trying the "pirates" show too. all the best , hope i`ve helped in some way... F00 |

One of the best shows is Tony'n' Tinas wedding, which is held in a hall at LBV,next to travel citys office. The wedding takes place 6 nights a week, and your are the guests, the dinner is the wedding breakfast, and the show has played in all major US cities, the show is still running on Broadway after 14 years. When we left we could not stop laughing,as the cast made everyone welcome and the situations that various cast members got into was so funny |

Tony 'n' Tinas sounds interesting James. We'll have 2 children with us aged 8 & 10. Do you think that it would be suitable for them?

Found this bit of a write up on Tony 'n' Tinas Wedding if anyone is interested.
The Factory Stores at Lake Buena Vista Our new expansion includes the opening of "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding," a big ol' fat Italian wedding. This hilarious smash hit is the second longest running show in off-Broadway history! "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding" opened Feb. 14, 1988 in New York City and has won over the hearts of millions of people in more than 100 cities worldwide, including Japan, Australia, Canada and Europe. And now The SoulFire Theatre & Dinner Experience brings you the Orlando premiere of the wedding comedy the city has been waiting 15 years to see! At "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding," audience members are the "invited guests" and actually play the roles of Tony 'n' Tina's family and/or friends. If you've ever been to a real wedding, you'll be absolutely wonderful in your part. And if this is your first wedding, what a first! -- comedy, dancing, singing, interactive fun and, of course, great Italian food! Call 407.465.1886 or see soulfire Paula
