new ships versus old ships

Looking at a possible cruise maybe March or April next year from Port Canaveral but the only ship appears to be the Fantasy . Having done the wonder and magic I was wondering who has done the new ships and can compare them with the old ships , I know th emain difference is size but are the new ships " too big "

Having sailed the Magic and then The Dream last year,I wouldn't say that the ship was too big at all, just that the pools are def.not big enough if at capacity(as we were!) linda

I have not been on Dreams or Fantasy... but I have been on Freedom of the Seas, that was massive ship...

My heart is on Magic ship and Wonder too. I prefer it than big ship

But on Freedom of the Seas on first day, full on resturant and I disliked it but next day there were plenty space at resturant, swimming pool etc and love the bands on every day. also love the Promenade too, also food was good too. but I prefer Magic!

Haven't been on the fantasy either...but it certainly has stuff I want to see/ do aboard that the others don't.
The dream is the same size...and whilst obviously bigger than the 'classics' it is still a beautiful boat

We've done both. The adult pool was fine on the Dream, it was the family pools that were far too busy. You couldn't swim, just really wade in and stand shoulder to shoulder with other people!

The only one I haven't sailed on is the Fantasy.. but the Dream is similar. I must admit I prefer the Classic's to the new ships.

I've only sailed on the Dream and am thinking of booking the Wonder for next year. I was worried that I would be disappointed going from the larger newer ship to the older smaller one but its interesting to read everyone's comments above.

This is one thing that worries me about cruising

We've done both the magic and the Fantasy and loved them both, the Fantasy certainly didn't feel too big and it's so new and shiny but we also loved the Magic and can't wait to sail on her again.

If both ships were sailing from port canaveral and I had to choose one to sail on I would choose the Fantasy.
