Hertz car hire

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with Hertz at Orlando Airport?

The company I work for get discounted rates with them so potentially looking at using them. Quote is coming out with them at £378 for 2 weeks with a standard SUV. Even with the discounted rate this is still only slightly cheaper than booking the hire with Virgin / Alamo.

Last time we went we booked through Virgin so the car was with Alamo and we were pleased with the selection of cars and getting to choose your own car was a bonus.

Does anyone know if Hertz offer the same thing with getting to choose the car? And also what sort of selection of SUVs they have? The standard SUV they show on the website is a Toyota 4Runner which I don't really like the look of!

Hertz offer Gold Choice to Gold Members which I believe you can join for free. Last year we arrived quite late in the evening and choice was very limited though. We had been given a free upgrade to a Mustang Convertible but with 2 adults, 2 kids and luggage I had to go and persuade them to downgrade me to a Chevy Impala.

Ah annoying you had to turn the Mustang down!

That's what I'm a bit worried about, we don't land until 6:15 in the evening, so by the time we get to choosing the car it will be gone 7:30! So slightly worried about the car selection that will be left.

Does gold choice let you choose the car then?

No, but if you're unhappy with the allocated car just go back to office and request something else in the same category

We are using Hertz this summer, we booked with their Mastercard 15% off offer ages ago. SUV $440 2 weeks.
