Healthy smoothies
Hiya
So, my 13 year old is going through the 'doesnt fancy breakfast' stage, she likes a glass of smoothie but I'm aware the pre made ones arent the healthiest. I have a wee nutri bullet type thing and dont start work until after I drop the youngest at primary school so I have time to blitz her something fresh. Please hit me with your healthy smoothie recipes? She more than likely wont touch anything green lol. Edited to add...any healthy ice lolly recipes would also be welcome. My youngest always wants an ice lolly for pudding. Edited at 06:57 PM. |

I have one most mornings.
200 g Natural Greek yogurt Frozen Raspberries Spinach Tablespoon oats 100 ml milk I don’t like the idea of green but you can’t see the spinach after it’s blitzed. |

Yes just Chuck a spoonful in. I guess it’s for fibre. It’s a recipe I got when I was doing the second nature diet. I don’t follow the diet any more but I like the smoothie

I liked a jason vale one that had banana, oat milk and nut butters in it - and then ice (like almond butter!) was really creamy, probably good for breakfast!

I tend to buy the frozen bags of smoothie mix from Sainsburys - there's a mixed berry one and also a green veggie one which is really nice so might be worth a try!
Our standard recipe is.. Handful of frozen fruit (I usually let them defrost a bit so they blend more easily) 1 banana Couple of spoons of yoghurt Splash of milk Handful of porridge oats |
