Sixt car hire

Hi all thinking of booking the car with Sixt this year. I have used Alamo when flying to Orlando but fancied a change as they are cheaper. So has anyone booked with Sixt and how good/bad are they.

Cheers

Mark

Used them in 2012.

Pro:
Great loaded Town & Country
No hassle with anything on the whole.

Cons:
Shuttle to offsite location, though only 10 min max. Had to wait though 15m for shuttle.
SLooooooooow counter, with no skip line or online check-in type thing.
Bit of a "Sell" at counter, but I'm stroppy so said no no no
Car was clean outside but food had been left in glove box and centre console and they they looked incredulous when I asked them to sort it...lol

All in not bad, would still rent again if price right.

Cheers Matt been quoted £296 for a premium car compared to Alamo's £376, so may give them a go.

Cheers buddy

We haven't used Sixt before but we have used Thrifty this year. We have always used Alamo in the past but Thrifty was over £100 cheaper for a full sized SUV for 17 nights

Good luck

We've used Sixt in LA and they were great. Have booked for Orlando this year as their prices were much cheaper than anyone else's!

We used them not long after they had opened. Despite saying "no" to all the extras, we found they had still charged us for something, and had to go back to get it removed.
If I remember rightly there was something strange about signing the 'contract'. I don't think we had a printed copy to sign. There was a sort of 'pad' inlaid in the counter which we had to sign before we actually saw the contract.
Maybe someone else can be more specific on how that works.

I monitor all the car threads and apart from the offsite location I don't see many issues regarding SixT at all.
