Question Another DS Lite question - batteries

I have seen people posting about battery extenders on here - basically a set of AAA batteries in a pack that you use to charge up the rechargeable battery, so that you can get a full plane journey out of them. Game has them for about £15 at the moment.

My question was this: would it work to get a second rechargeable battery instead (much cheaper - about £3.95 on Amazon), charge them both up before we go, and then use one after the other on the plane (so that DD can go into her DS-daze)?

Anyone techie know the answer?

We use a spare battery packs we got from Argos. However, they're only there for a backup. Wouldn't want mine staring at a screen that small for 9 hours!

Of course you dont

The seat back TV's dont seem that much bigger than a games console screen anyway, and after watching a film on it for around 3 hours i turned it off.
My sons and daughter took there Ds's last year but we didnt take an extra battery, we just charged them up fully before we went. They were only on them for around half the journey, as they decided to do other things, my 2 sons read their new book and my daughter fell asleep. I think if you fully charge the battery before you go you will be fine

Thanks Debbie. DD has a habit of having hers on v bright and then not switching it off. I'm also thinking that we might be delayed for a while (Globespan...)

I popped into Game today and the manager told me to totally drain the battery on dd's ds and then charge it up for 12 hours and then dim the screen a bit as that will save battery a bit too. The ds is only to shut her up for a wee while lol. Her back pack will have quite a bit more surprises for her in there.
