Church?
Hello all,
The last thread on this topic dates all the way back to 2008 so I thought I'd see if anything has changed! We're Catholics and my DW likes to go to church whilst on holiday, wherever we are in the world; she likes to compare and enjoy new experiences. She has asked me to ask you guys whether there is anywhere near where we are staying in the Westridge, Davenport area? It would preferably be "typically American". You know, gospel choirs and lots of happy clappy singing? Sorry if anyone takes offence as I know religion can be a hot potato. Thanks! |

I don't know about the Davenport area but can recommend Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration. Catholic Churchs aren't usually very happy clappy even in the US but their Sunday evening service is very "lively". I can't remember the time but their website will have details and the location. The church itself is very new and welcoming. There is also a website called masstimes.org if you want to try and find one closer to where you are staying.

Mary, Queen of the Universe is just on the way into Orlando Premium Outlets South, it is quite Big. Corpus Christi in Celebration, and St Faustina on the 192. There are a number of Baptist Churches on the 192, where I would imagine you may get the Choirs, clapping and Dancing etc. I also love watching these types of worship, they really put their heart and soul into it.

Can't help you with Davenport, but I went to mass at Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood (up the I-4 and up from Altamonte Mall) around a month ago. They were very welcoming and it was an uplifting mass. It was "typically Catholic" rather than "typically American"

We passed Corpus Christi church in Celebration and it looked lovely. I did intend to go and take my kids (DH isn't catholic) but ended up not making it. (Don't tell my parents! 😜
