Memorial day and Parks

Hi all

We are in Florida over memorial day at the end of May - has any one ever been to any of the parks on this day? The busy day guide / wait times are quite favourable but I'm not sure this is a true reflection as I've seen recently the busy day guides were not particularly accurate! Would you stay away from parks or risk it?

We arrive that weekend and are risking it. We've planned short days in the parks aiming to utilise jet lag and hit the parks early and out again just after lunch.
I'm hoping I manage to get the fast passes I want and then worst case scenario we just do these and head out but at least we will have had a park fix!

My thinking also is that it's our first time I've no idea of crowd experience and I'm going with the view it will be very busy, queues are expected etc so not under any illusion but just can't imagine getting there and holding fire on our park days.

Same for us. First time but we are expecting it to be busy and are just going to go with it. We have a pool day planned for the saturday. Sunday will be out early to typhoon lagoon and then an evening wandering around world showcase and then actual memorial day at hollywood studios and have the dessert party booked.

We went to Epcot on Memorial Day itself last year...turns out it was the busiest park of the lot! It was manageable...we didn't stay all day in the end though.

I would definitely avoid AK. It's Pandora opening weekend.

The shops are crazy too as they have Memorial Day sales on.

Ahh I forgot about Pandora opening - thank you -

We've been to all the parks before so I think we'll just have a pool day / BBQ at the villa that day - we don't plan ahead or book anything in advance just take each day as it comes but we've never been over memorial day so not sure what to expect.

I've got typhoon lagoon or blizzard beach pencilled in for that day. We did a water park on Memorial Day last year and it was lovely.

From what I remember Memorial Day itself is not too bad. The weekend just before is busier than normal though. Weekends tend to attract more crowds anyway because locals with season passes visit. And Memorial Day weekend is a bit like our Bank Holiday weekends here in the UK. However, from what I remember it wasn't too terrible.

Mind you, when you add in the fact that Pandora is opening at AK and Volcano Bay is opening at Universal, I suspect the parks will be pretty busy this year. Just remember that it won't just affect Memorial Day Monday though.
