LA, Vegas & Phoenix ... Day 4 Vegas Green Valley Ranch
We all woke around 7am but had no real plans for today so took our time getting ready etc.
Decided to use one of our MyVegas rewards today for Breakfast or Lunch at Green Valley Ranch. Less than a 10 minute drive from South Point and very easy to find, Green Valley looks very new and is so nice, we were all impressed. Parked up and walked in the hotel and found where we needed to sign up to the "Boarding Card" and redeem our voucher, Took around 10 mins for us both to get sorted. Walked over to the buffet area and it looked fairly busy but now it was around 10.30 and they were swapping over to the lunch buffet. We got a mix of breakfast and lunch food and it was so nice we all enjoyed equally as good as any i've had on the strip and all free :-) Decided to drive out to the Speedway and pick up our race tickets for the weekend as it would be much quieter and i knew DH & DS would want a good look around the shop. Drove past Fremont Street and along Nellis BLVD, far more homeless along there than i've seen in a long time, pretty sad seeing people with no shoe's sitting on the pavement.. DH decided we needed more petrol so we went into a garage only he clipped the kerb (its a real funny one and judging by the black tyre marks on it plenty clip it) and the front tyre went with a loud bang. Fantastic, its not the best of area's so not overly keen on being there DH decided to change the wheel and then we'd sort out what to do... Wheel changed and we carried onto the Speedway as its not far, went to collect my tickets to be told she thought they had posted them... Ridiculous i've used will call for years as they don't post tickets internationally anymore and lo and behold she comes back with them! More importantly also in the envelope was a 20% voucher for the shop , DH wasn't really up for shopping but DS made good use of it and spent more in 10 mins than the rest of us had all trip .. I decided the sensible thing would be to take the car back to Dollar as the spare wheel was one of those little thin things and not suitable for the miles we would be doing. Only one i knew of was at the airport so off we went. Once there we parked up and walked into the terminal and over to Dollar and asked what to do , don't think she really grasped the issue so told us just to go to returns. So off to returns we go , now we wasn't sure whether to let it be scanned and booked in or whether to keep the keys and take to the kiosk . I saw 3 workers and went and asked and they were so rude "well what do you think you do ", and "we need the keys to move it" blah blah..Thanking them for their help we took the keys to the kiosk. The lady there then told us we should have had the car scanned in etc... i pointed out had the 3 men been more helpful i would have, we explained the problem and she offered to exchange the car , then disappeared for 20 mins with the paperwork. Finally she comes back and tells us to go and choose a new Int Suv and come back.. well there were 2 to choose from, one a funny thing and the back seats so sloped back the kids hated it and the other a KIA ! We had little choice but to take the Kia even though i argued it wasn't like for like, it didn't even have remote locking and was so uncomfortable. Finally after 90 mins we left , but it quickly became clear we couldn't keep this car it was so uncomfortable i couldn't sit in it for 2 more road trips so DH said he would take it back next morning to be exchanged again .. Decided to head to the North Outlets, lovely sunny afternoon and it was nice walking around, didn't buy much i saw a watch i liked in the Watch Station but decided to wait. We were all hungry by now so went to In N Out burger , good value as usual and i bought a sweatshirt for $30. Went back to the hotel and got changed into jeans and drove to the Excalibur and parked there , kids were tired tonight so we just went to Hershey's World, MGM, Ross Dress [/URL]for Less etc. Back in the car we went to Walmart for a new adaptor, cost me $25 but at least it worked properly unlike the one we had bought previously. I also bought 5 Sensationail nail polishes for $9.97 each, they are £15 here in Boots so a proper bargain. Drove back to the hotel and by now it was 11pm so we all went straight to bed and pretty much straight to sleep.. |

We like a short trip to Green Valley Ranch because;
1) There's a Cheesecake Factory just across the road 2) There's a Fat Burger in the casino 3) I once won $280 Dollars in the slots |
