Online shopping to villa
Hello, can I shop online with UK debit card and have it posted to my villa while on holidays? Also can you order groceries online anywhere to be delivered to villa like tesco here? Thanks in advance!

The supermarkets here don't offer a grocery delivery service like Tesco etc but there's a company called GardenGrocer. com that lots of Dibbers have used and recommended on the forum. Might be worth taking a look at their website for an idea on pricing etc.

Distances are so much greater here that it's not economically feasible to deliver groceries. The temperatures also make it difficult. I think Garden Grocer is your only option.

If you have a car food shopping is so quick and easy I wouldn't even try and order ahead. There are Publix Supermarkets within 10 minutes of any villa community, parking is easy and they are open really long hours. It isn't like trying to go to Tesco on a Saturday in the UK. Even on Christmas Eve it isn't a hassle. I also think it must be difficult to shop unfamiliar brands, pack sizes etc online.
IMHO the reason American supermarkets don't do delivery is that there is simply very little demand for it as food shopping is so convenient already. As mentioned, temperature is definitely an issue as well. Hotel Chocolate have started delivering in the US and have to charge a fortune for shipping with dry ice in the Summer, not like the UK where they just send it regular post.

You can get online shopping delivered to your Villa - we do this all the time. You do have to watch some though - we have had a few deliveries go astray (particularly on eBay).. never an issue getting them refunded though provided you buy from recognised sellers. Many use UPS and you don't need to be in to sign for packages - they will just leave them on the front porch, regardless of whether you are in! Bear in mind, same as for groceries, distances can be huge and delivery isn't always next day or even the day after - so order at the beginning of your holiday if possible.
