Embossing and die cutting machine
I'm looking to buy an embossing and die cutting machine. Looking to die cut shapes for matting and layering and also to emboss papers for card making. Which machine do you all use and suggest I should get?

I have a cuttlebug, which I love, but it's an older one, and is limited by the size of the plates. A lot of the newer machines will take up to A4 dies/folders., which I would love but am restricted by the space available, as a bigger machine will have a bigger footprint.
I also have a sizzix ecclips electronic cutter, which cuts up to 12"24", but doesn't emboss. Best advice would be to give plenty of thought to the size you want to work to, and the space you have to work in, then find a craft shop that has them available to demo. /Mo |

I have the Cricut machine, which is a die cutter and scores, depending on the cut depth setting. I have the Cuttlebug to emboss, which also cuts shapes. The Cuttlebug uses embossing folders that you buy to emboss patterns. Both are very good and the Cuttlebug is obviously a hand turned machine and cheaper. Also cheaper by far in Florida, but heavy to get home. I bought my Cricut online here, but stock up with cartridges and all the accessories in Florida. Michaels, JoAnn or Walmart all do the bits.

I had a cuttlebug and replaced it with a Big Shot and then replaced that with an E-bosser which is probably the best thing (craft wise) that I've ever bought! I sold my cuttlebug but kept my Big Shot 'just in case'.
Have you seen the new Gemini machine from Crafter's Companion? It doesn't take the really thick sizzix dies (which I no longer use anyway) but the clips I've seen so far look really good. It's due to be released next month so it might be worth a look.
