Eurostar ~ via Lille or Gard du Nord

We usually drive to DLP, although we did get the train once when it was still direct.

Myself and my daughter are considering going for a sneaky trip around Jan/Feb next year and taking the train again. The Lille prices aren’t online yet but the Gard du Nord ones are. Are there many pros and cons to each journey and how easy is the train between DLP and Gard du Nord? Thank you 😀

Gare du Nord is cheaper and gets you there earlier (particularly if you can get the £35 each way offer and go 6am as we did). We stayed overnight at the Premier Inn St Pancras which was 5 min walk and very inexpensive.

It is easy to get to Marne la Vallee on the RER - costs 5 Euros, takes 45 min with one change.

Lots of YouTube videos showing the exact route.

Lille is easy too (just make sure you change at Lille Europe station not Lille Flanders which is just a 10 min walk away). But you will get there later.

Thanks Gill, I’ll have a proper look at the Gard du Nord route.

We did Lille a few years ago, and I was surprised at just how easy it was. I was nervous beforehand but there was no need.

Lille would be my preferred option for ease, but Eurostar just keep doing that £35 offer to GdN and it’s too good to turn down!

Do you know how far in advance they release the ‘DLP via Lille’ tickets?

My recommendation would be to book the Eurostar to Lille as soon as you can, as tickets tend to be cheaper when they go on sale.

Then when the train from Lille to Marne-La-Vallée is available to book, book that separately with SNCF or the Trainline. These prices tend to be fixed. Usually available a few months out from travel.

Thanks, I looked and Lille and Gare du Nord are both £44, so we’ll probably just book the Gard du Nord tickets.

Do you know how often then do the £35 offer, everything is £44 at the moment? We’ll probably just book the £44 as knowing my luck there won’t be an offer and the price will just go up.

I’ve seen it about a month ago and we booked it about six months ago for April. I would grab the £44 ones, that is a good price and it is such an easy journey.
