Offsite hotels?

I’m toying with the idea of booking a last minute trip for November. I haven’t been to DLP in about 14 years, so it’s been a long time!

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to stay that’s off site? (Trying to keep costs down before I propose this plan to my husband )

We’d be travelling with two children (ages 1 and 3). I’m not massively bothered about theming, but more interested in somewhere with easy (preferably free) transport to the parks, and also easy transport to CDG

We like Dream Castle for an offsite hotel. There is a free shuttle bus, but it does get busy. Sometimes it's not much more to stay onsite by the time you add on park tickets, and it's much more convenient especially with small children!

Thank you is it walkable do you think? It does suggest it is but I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not.
I’ll definitely be comparing it to onsite once I get the chance to sit and research properly. The idea only popped into my head a few hours ago

Grand Magic and Explorers are very popular in a Facebook group I am part of (never been to either). Explorers has a pool.
I think it’s good advice to price up onsite too as the park tickets are the biggest expense. I generally go for the cheapest onsite, all are walkable and not much time spent in a room.

Are the park tickets any cheaper if you stay onsite normally? I was pricing it up on Disney direct and on attraction tickets, anywhere else I should look as well for comparison do you think?

Park tickets are discounted as part of a package. Have a look at www.disneylandparis.com the official website. If you were doing offsite, Expedia etc for hotel then Attraction Tix etc for park tickets. There probably won't be much of a price difference. Plus onsite you get Extra Magic Time, so you can get in the parks at 8.30am instead of 9.30am, it's surprising how much you can do in that hour!

Dream Castle, Explorers, Grand Magic are all next to each other. I walked back once whilst 29weeks pregnant lol took about 25mins

Over the years I've done both and if you can afford it, onsite is better

Thanks so much, that’s helpful. Good to know you managed the walk! It’s a good one to know if we stay offsite as sometimes I’d rather not face the chaos of squeezing in and queuing for a bus. We’ll have a double pram as well!

I’ll do some comparisons between on and off site and see what they’re like

We have stayed at Dream Castle before (overnight stays at end of trip) and found the rooms better than the onsite hotels. We did like it there. Dream Castle can be walking distance but i wouldn't recommend it with small children.

As others have said, unless you already have annual passes, there may not be much price difference in staying onsite vs staying offsite once you factor in the price of tickets. Disney has worked this all out! Depending on time of year there might be a few hundred quid in it but the price of convenience and onsite experience is worth the small extra cost. Price it up directly on DLP's website. Check cashback sites too.

Would dream castle work for walking if they’re both in the pram? We’re likely only to walk at the end of the night if the buses are full, and there’s a chance they’ll be asleep in there anyway

I did a comparison between off and onsite yesterday, and it’s around £200 difference. However, I had Tesco vouchers for £180 to use on hotels.com which reduced it further for us. So we’re staying off site this time at dream castle! We love on site at WDW, but we’ll give this a try and see how we get on. We’ve two weeks in Florida booked for next year which I hope all goes ahead

I know £200 is a difference but in the grand scheme of things I’d stay on-site for that difference.

Yes you can walk but it’s probably 30-40 minutes, and that’s on top of a lot of walking already.
