We’ve stayed in Sunset Lakes and loved it but now we stay in Davenport, it’s slightly further out (about 25 mins to Disney) so it’s cheaper but still closer to lots of shopping areas/eateries etc and we really don’t mind the drive

We stayed in the Formosa gardens area and thought it was a great location. We also looked at villas in sunset lakes, emerald island etc - they are all really close to the Disney parks and there are lots of places to eat and shops on the 192. We didn’t particularly look for any places with communal facilities as we were happy with the villas own private pool.

Formosa garden's area i.e. Sunset lakes Rolling hills Windsor hills to mention a few is a lovely area to stay and is the closest to Disney but have found the traffic can be congested coming home from the parks at night. So we now prefer the Davenport area but you can't go wrong where ever you stay just pick the one that's right for you it's the villa that counts.

Lots of love in this thread for Sunset Lakes. We're off to stay in a Dibb villa there too, end of June (Disney Sunset Villa).
For the OP, earlier advice was spot on - give some thought to villa features you would like, like privacy, view or shade from the sun when poolside... |

Would thoroughly recommend Windsor Hills. It's a fabulous gated community just a few minutes drive from Animal Kingdom. Our favourite villa is Dutch Royal Treat (4 beds with 4 en suites) which has a lovely large sized pool & separate hubbly bubbly. There is a separate community pool with slides plus a kids play area and even an on site mini cinema room. We rent through Villa Direct who are really on the ball if there are ever any problems.
