Pre-order Disney Magic Bands!

If people are having payment issues, save your card to your profile first, add it to your account before check out, and then use the saved card. There should be no issue with purchasing with a UK card, but given change in US tax regulations, they're still working out acceptance of foreign transactions. Just a case of trial and error!

For anyone booking/booked for onsite visits, on the Disney app, under your resort reservation you have the option to add a magic band to your order.

In the UK, you get a redirect to the FAQ's surrounding MagicBands and cannot buy them from the UK store which you also get taken to, due to new tax laws in the US and sale of goods/provisions outside of their trade bloc.

However, if you use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and set your location to the United States, you can circumvent their geographical restriction, order magic bands and have them ordered to your room upon arrival and just have them associated with your account, in the same way you used to get magic bands when they were free, jus at reception!

if you want to do this, I would recommend ultimate VPN.

Follow the below step by step if you want to order them now:

1. Download a VPN of your choice, don't connect yet.
2. Open Disney App, and go to your resort page and scroll down to "Add Magic bands" (On Mobile devices, this will be at the bottom of the page"
3. Before selecting "Add MagicBands", connect to your VPN, with the server in the US.
4. After connecting, go back to the MyDisney app and select "Add MagicBands (when returning to the app, it is likely to load the page again, due to change in server requirements)
5. The link will take you to the Disney website, scroll down down and select "Edit Order", then on the following page "Select".
6. Choose your magic band, edit any personalisation (up to 9 letters), and continue.

This process will add magic bands to your order, as the same as it used to when they were free!

As standard with Disney, as it seems these days, they are monetising it for everyone now! Not just non-Hotel guests, so there is a fee, but they are offering pre-order prices.

Basic bands (e.g. block colours) - $10 (RRP - $20)
Basic bands with additional detail e.g. sparkles $15 (RRP - $25)

Limited edition e.g. 5th anniversary prints - $25 (RRP - $35)

I initially was just going to use the new Disney app for credit card, room key and fast passes (if they come back), but in the grand scheme of things, $10 seems reasonable!

Yes! I think the only other option for UK travellers is for people to buy them either in hotel, parks, or the WOD at Disney Springs. Seems a bit silly, especial since online you can customise, and have it ready when you check-in

I did mine last week. One thing I noticed it said you could go back and edit or change the order. Not seen anywhere how to do that so not sure you can.

This is a great trick and I’ve almost done it!

I’ve got as far as inputting my payment details and as soon as I enter my credit card number (Halifax Clarity) it is saying that there’s an error. The error is saying it is their end, but I’m not convinced! I’m guessing there should be no issues using a UK credit card? I’ll try again in the morning to see if it works then.
