Starting to regret booking...
So we are going to lanzarote in the Easter holidays for a week. We are staying in a villa and our girls are both taking a friend each. They are beyond excited at the thought of having a friend each on holiday.
The villa looks beautiful but it’s cost an absolute arm and a leg just for 1 week, especially compared to what we would get in Florida. Now just found out the air conditioning is extra (coin operated), which I’d never picked up on when we booked as their website only says ‘air conditioning throughout’. I feel miffed at paying so much to then find this out! Minor thing I know, but it’s just all adding to the general feeling that maybe we made a mistake booking this. I always knew it wouldn’t be hot at this time of year, but now I’m worrying it will be too cold and I hate being cold. For me, a holiday without warm sun is not a holiday. (But then I guess this would cancel out the above frustration about the air conditioning lol ). I suppose really I’m just fretting that we’ve ended up forking our much more than we planned, for somewhere I’m not fussed about and I’m not even looking forward to going right now. First world problems and all that lol. Anyone been to Lanzarote and can talk me round into thinking more positively and getting the most out of this break? |

to me i would look beyond the cost , beyond the fact its not florida and think about how its a nice change and how much your girls are looking forward to it. I have been to Lanzarote and it was lovely .

Well I imagine it will be hot at Easter. Maybe not middle of summer Florida hot, but certainly hot enough for swimming costumes. Though the pools are generally coolish and not heated. We normally go the Canaries around end of February so Easter should be even warmer. You may possibly need a cardy or jacket when the sun goes down. Enjoy😎

We went to Lanzarote in April and it was gorgeous weather, particularly in the afternoons.

hi we have just spent new year in Lanzarote -got back on 5 Jan. the weather was lovely 23-24° all week. it was a little windy - and you did need a jumper in the evening, but it was bikini/shorts in the day,and came back with a lovely tan😎. think Easter will be nice and warm for you.

Don't compare it to Florida it's a new place to explore and make memories. Not been to lanzarote but Gran Canaria and Tenerife and both were hot earlier in the year. Just see it as an adventure if you keep thinking Florida is better/cheaper you'll tell yourself it doesn't compare.

I have never been but have thought about it. It should be lovely time to go weather wise and I am sure you will enjoy it once you get there. Maybe research a few things you can do or restaurants to try and provoke your enthusiasm.

I'm assuming you would not have considered taking two extra girls if it had been Florida you were going to so just try not to compare the two. It will be a different type of holiday but I'm sure you will have a wonderful time anyway.
Yes it's frustrating about the cost of additional air conditioning if you need it but the weather shouldn't be so hot that you will need it continually anyway but warm enough for you to enjoy. |
