Tampa airport yesterday 15/8/18

Just thought I would let anyone know who hasn't flown into Tampa what to expect.
We landed on the BA 2167 flight from Gatwick, we were scheduled to land at 4.20 but as we left late we touched down at 5.00. We were at the back of the plane rows 37 and 38 flight was good (food will be in my trippy). We used the self serve machines which were easy to use, we were also given out customs forms on the plane which we didn't need as the same questions were asked on the machine. DS 1 had a cross through his print out do we needed to queue to see an officer. That done bags were collected and we made our way onto the monorail and into the main terminal. We were collecting a car from Alamo so made our way round to the escalator and up to the Sky Connect monorail, the car rental is the second stop after the car park. We had done skip the counter so no desk for us, as you walk from the monorail you will see the Alamo desk in front of you, turn left walk down the hall and then go down to level 1 where the car park is, it's all pretty simple. We had a 7 seater mini van booked, there wasn't much choice but we chose a Dodge Caravan with 7000 miles on the clock. So from touch down to exiting the garage took about an hour. Hope that helps anyone, any questions ask away.

No questions Paul as we're not flying into TPA but glad that it went well.

Just to add though that it's not uncommon to get a cross on the kiosk receipt. We get one every time at MCO having used them the last half dozen times. In our case because we declare food and in other Dibbers experience because fingerprints aren't clear or maybe less than 6 months on P/P. The cross doesn't mean that you've been "rejected" only that the officer might ask an additional question.

Anyway soon be time to use your first Bob Evans voucher for a good hearty breakfast.

Have a great time.

Mick

Is that the Berry or 192 IHOP? You need to be in Publix soon.

Good luck with that Walmart Paul - the car park road layout is completely illogical - at least for an old man like me.

We went for a very odd reason. The only local supermarket that sells the large size Marie's chunky blue cheese dressing which Joan likes to bring home. There's not just B&BW that attracts our holiday dollars.

Our airport of choice; our record is 25 minutes from wheels hitting the tarmac to driving in our rental car on I-275; sitting in Papa's diner, Clearwater ordering dinner 30 minutes later!

See you on the 1st, TPA!
