Mobile Who doesn’t love an NT property? Flower fanatic here

Travelled down south for a few days from Inverness to see some new (to me) National Trust properties in Northumberland & Yorkshire (and a privately owned one) and wow, the flowers did not disappoint!
We were at Cragside, Wallington, Wentworth Castle Gardens, Treasurers House and Castle Howard.

Beautiful. I love the National Trust.

We went to Calke Abbey, Derbyshire at the weekend and it has the most fantastic wisteria.
It ran down opposite walls, making it like a wisteria tunnel.

Your photos look great. We are heading to York on Sunday and I joined the National Trust for Scotland yesterday. I know we can use the card in NT in England, but am I correct in thinking we won't get free parking in England?

I'm going to look up these places right now and make a plan! We'll have a dog and a mobility scooter and plan to do some walks & picnics.

I love wisteria, I’ll need to look that one up!

I think you must do, we have had ours for years, used regularly in Scotland and England and never paid for parking or been told otherwise.

My neighbour has one right along our wall. Lovely to look at and nice scent for 2 weeks a year, then 50 weeks dropping leaves in our garden

They are indeed. I’ve never seen rhododendrons as good as the ones they had, just beautiful. They have only had the site for 2 years and it needs a lot of work, but I loved it.

It’s gorgeous - it was lovely before and I know the owners were in trouble before NT stepped in - hopefully they can get it back to looking tip top. Hope you enjoyed your trip x
