What are your preferred sandals for the parks in August?
We're going in August 2022 and it'll be our first visit at that time of year.
I realise it'll be a mix of hot, humid with possible torrential rain. What on earth do I wear on my feet? What sandals (not trainers) do others wear that are suitable for heat but also waterproof or dry quickly? Thanks |

I'm interested to see your replies as going at the same time.
Last time we went in September I wore my crocs flip flops, my Clarks cushion flip flops. Both were fine in the heat but flip flops are so dangerous in rain, trying not to slip out if them is hard I also wore sketchers strappy sandles, the type with a trainer like geo sole, very comfortable but I don't think I was caught in the rain in them. I love my light meshy sketchers trainers for walking but don't fancy waterlogged feet. 😑

I’ve gone through a few, and I’d say Crocs. Especially as they’re back in vogue.
Light, comfortable and waterproof-ish to the point that it doesn’t matter and you can wear them the next day. |

I usually just wear trainers. You get to the point where you can't get any hotter and I'd rather be comfy. If we go back to the park in the evening and are going to be walking less then I may wear padded flip flops like flo jos

I wear Birkenstocks all day every day - I have plantar fasciitis so need something with the right amount of support. Yes they are leather and they get wet, but that has never caused me a problem. They also stay on my feet!

I have/had various walking sandals that I've used in the parks.
I always get ones with a really flexible sole and adjustable straps across both the ankle and the toes (my feet swell easily). They're not waterproof, but generally dry out quite quickly and are still ok to wear whilst wet. I've had "Earth Spirit" which were really comfortable, "Clarks" which were comfortable but not as adjustable & Decathlon sandals which are the most comfortable to me so far (plus the cheapest ).
