White House to host July 4th 'independence from virus' bash

Not quite sure where this should go, but it is certainly good news for the USA.

White House to host July 4th 'independence from virus' bash

apnews/article/governmen...a17d149daedb14

President Joe Biden wants to imbue Independence Day with new meaning this year by encouraging nationwide celebrations to mark the country’s effective return to normalcy after 16 months of disruption.

The holiday will see the largest event yet of Biden’s presidency: He plans to host first responders, essential workers and military service members and their families on the W.H. South Lawn for a cookout and to watch the fireworks over the National Mall. Well more than 1,000 guests are expected, officials said, with final arrangements still to be sorted out.

“By July the 4th, there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbeque and celebrate Independence Day,” Biden had said.

“We welcome you to join us by hosting your own events to honor our freedom, salute those who have been serving on the frontlines, and celebrate our progress” the White House wrote in an email to state and local officials Tuesday.

“America is headed into a summer dramatically different from last year,” the administration wrote to officials. “A summer of freedom. A summer of joy. A summer of reunions and celebrations.”

The article is much longer for those who want to read it, but this gives you the general idea.

Nice to see the US celebrating their freedoms, let's hope we soon see the day where we are also able to enjoy it along with them by getting back to sunny Florida

They have form in not inviting us. They had a non-Alcohol party in Boston and didn't want us at that one either.

It will be great to have fireworks again this year as most all of them around the country were canceled last year. I understand fireworks are returning to the Disney parks for our celebration as well.

I hope you can all join us soon.
