We don’t talk about holiday no no no- Britannia cruise Day 5 At Sea

Friday 22nd.

Thought we had woke up really early but turns out we had just changed the ships time. Didn’t remember this till later though. We went to reception to sort out our room keys as for some reason only the kids worked, then up to the buffet for pastries for breakfast. Georgia made another friend called lenoy who made her a paper aeroplane. This child matters to everyone all the time. Scarlett doesn’t really like to do that she’s more shy.

Early morning kids club today and nearly didn’t make it on time, luckily I turned the tv on to see where we were and the time was an hour in front so quick run up to the kids club and managed to get there for 9.40.

We decided to go to the hot tubs whist we were kid free. We had a lovely hour in there watching the world go by. It was literally deserted otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed in so long, probably as it was very windy and raining a little.

Unfortunately it was time to collect the kids so we did and came straight to the buffet. We had scampi and fries. The food I don’t rate but the puddings were nice. We had a creme brûlée, banoffee pie, coffee cake and meringue. We just kept swapping so we all tried a little of each.

We were going to watch the magician again as it was a different show, we called at the glass house for an ipa as there was no bar service until late last time and it was 50mins before the show now but soon as we got there a lot of people were there and so were the bar staff.

It was magic Curtis again and I thought for the kids we could stomach watching it but it’s literally kids party tricks, there are about three tricks and it’s just dragged out and out with kids screaming. Scarlett asked to go as she was bored and so were we, only Georgia seemed to like it so we stayed half hour and then called it at that as I had headache. We instead watched a helicopter do an air lift as someone is poorly, hope they are ok, the skill those pilots must have though, amazing.

We got showered, did the kids nails which took the most time then got to the kids disco for 6pm. Georgia was loving it. She was in her element just dancing and requesting different songs, Scarlett just looked awkward bless her.

They both get lots of comments from people passing about their dresses, calling them little Princesses etc.

We had booked to go to the beach house but after looking at the glass house menu we decided to go there, so I cancelled beach house on the app. When we got to the glass house after the virtual queue they couldn’t do the kids menu, so we had a quick run up to beach house see if we could get the reservation back, no problem they already had us down as the cancellation hadn’t got through yet so wasn’t a problem.

Back down to brodies and we had a few drinks and played a little bit of the quiz. Now Scott thinks we should have to dress up every night, I’m quite happy to have a mixture but there was a woman in brodies who had her shoes and socks off, and feet up all over the sofa, taking up way more room than she needed to be and everyone’s dressed up ready for dinner they really didn’t need to see someone lounged like that in a pub, on a sun lounger that’s fine but 8pm in a pub. Anyway rant over.

We went to the beach house. Kids had salmon and sausages with fries and we shared hush puppies and the peri peri chicken. We then had lava rock and sizzler. Followed by Apple pecan pie and carrot cake. The waiters do have a soft spot for the kids as they fetched them extra pudding.

We were all shattered by this time as it was getting late so off to bed with a few sudokus.
