Platinum port arrival time

I have just checked in thinking I don’t need to book a port arrival time and seen that it’s all changed and platinum members now have to book a port arrival time. Since when did that change. Thought I would leave it to when I had the time but looks like I missed that one.

It changed with the advent of covid testing being required at the port. It’s another perk gone.

One of the best perks really, do you now if they still have a
Dedicated check in desk or as that gone as well.

I honestly don’t know. Things change so rapidly. It could also be different depending upon the departure port.
It’s now a real scramble to get the check in done and select a PAT and last year they were very strict about you not arriving early. You were turned away.
Good for everyone else I suppose but not a good reward for those who are Platinum.

Yeah so I turned platinum in 2019 so never got this mysterious no need to book arrival time people talk about. I wish they would bring it back as that would be one less thing to stress about!

Compared to other cruise lines DCL’s top level perks are much lower. I’m switching away from DCL as their Summer itineraries don’t suit us as much being in Northern Europe v Med so am starting to sail Princess Caribbean winter cruises instead. I’ve done all the ports that DCL does multiple times so time for a change I think.

Same as us we've yet to take our first platinum cruise, luckily for the Wish one we're concierge so didn't need an arrival time but I'll have to stay up until midnight when we're there to check in for our WBTA
