I have come off the Political forum, because I feel that a very few are simply in it for a fight.. but not the majority. Anything involving the Political Parties to left and right or Scotland, invariably degenerates into argument.
‘Ignore’, I have used just twice.. both due to Political subjects. I have no regrets whatever and it was about being offensive, rather than having an alternate view. There are some subjects where it is pointless contributing and you will soon pick up on which. It is fair to say that some very unfair treatment has been meted out by some companies involved in travel, particularly during the Covid period. This has inevitably led to negativity when these companies have come up in discussion. Many DIBBERS have been attending Disney for many, many years and have perceived a decline in the value offered in the parks. It would be wrong, were they not to feel able to voice that opinion candidly. The Rodent and the massive corporation behind him is not above or beyond criticism. Many on the DIBB have no interest in Disney at all.. or even Orlando. This is a very wide church indeed. Not all Dibbers are in a Walt Disney love fest and many no longer even darken the doors. They may remain active members because the DIBB and its DIBBERS (without which any Forum would be pointless), remains a truly awesome place to exchange information and to receive/ give advice. From a personal viewpoint.. I have not darkened the Disney doors on my last 6 visits to Orlando and in probability never will again. In probability, I visited Orlando for the last time this Easter, for 7 days out of a 15 day vacation, only 11 of which were even in Florida. I only purchased D.C. ultimates. I look to travel across North America and have been fortunate to achieve this as my vacations have expanded from on site Disney only, to multi park, to Florida as a whole, to the USA as a whole, to North America as a whole. Without the DIBB, the brilliant advice and assistance of its members and the spirit in which this information was so freely given, I would never have achieved very much, if any of it at all. Whilst plenty of Dibbers are Disney mad to exclusivity , many others have little or no time for Disney at all.. but are still fantastically helpful members.. negativity or otherwise. The DIBB is a magnificent travel planning information tool and is the only forum of which I am a member. I have no interest in Disney, though. P.S I don’t ever, ever do pixie dust, just honest commentary. Edited at 06:41 PM. |

Exactly this. For many members especially those of us who have been going for years, recent changes and reduction in services, benefits and customer satisfaction has indeed dented our love of the mouse. That doesn't mean others are not having s fabulous time when they go.
I don't see this as negativity, is just the facts as to how many feel. On general chat there will always be the odd dispute because we are all different people from all walks of life. On the whole it's a friendly site with loads of information and some exceptional advice given by various members. We can't all hail Disney all of the time and sadly WDW not doing much yo help the situation. On the planning section any I've never found anyone argumentative. Sometimes on chat... but just pass on by..and for goodness sake don't even peek at the political forum |

It would not be much use if only positive experiences were allowed, especially as people need to make informed decisions.

Exactly as above. We will probably visit Orlando again sometime in the future but our Disney days are done (try saying that after a few glasses of wine...).
This is simply because I don't think we would enjoy the experience now. We first went in the 90s and it was wonderful, but even our last visit in 2017 we had noticed a lot of changes that we found slightly disappointing, despite having a fantastic holiday. I think the posters who are posting about their experience of Disney are doing it in a thoroughly truthful manner so that others can make informed decisions. I don't think they are necessarily trying to be negative and argumentative over it. I would prefer it that way rather them gloss it in pixie dust only to find out after spending thousands that it wasn't the experience that I expected to have. |

Agree with all that is said here really don't think this is the place for people who love all things Disney and only want to hear good things. Have received lots of good info on here about all types of Subjects and a lot of time from people I've had the odd disagreement with.
Perhaps try a Disney fan club D23? |

Sadly your not going to get 100% positivity on any forum, that's just the way the world is nowadays.
Must say though I find theDIBB a very friendly place to be part of, and people are more than happy to give advice when required. |

Not only given advice…some DIBBers have gone above and beyond when someone finds themselves in a crisis. 💕💕

The support and empathy that both Joan and I had from Dibbers whilst both fighting the big C was tremendous. I know that dozens of other Dibbers have experienced it as well

If there were a dibb top table, there would be places set for Mick & Joan.

I joined the Dibb way back when researching to book a multi generalisation Disney trip and the advice was invaluable
Since then I have tried constantly to help given, when I was working, I flew extensively for a long period of time and worked out of California (as well as visiting very state at one time or another) - California I first went to as a babe in arms and have been a constant visitor since (mainly SoCal these days) so I try and help where I can As in RL there are some you meet you really get along with and I have a few firm DIbb friends that know all my real ins and outs and we share stories along the way. For example on my sift flight to USA last year I was nervous about video chat test and a kind dibber video called me and talked me though ti (as she had done it) and allayed all my anxiety - you dont get that everywhere . Also as in life there are, at times, people who dont just rub along well together - thats life too. IGnore or deal with them as I would in real life - I dont take prisoners Strange but I really thought my Orlando days were over until this year when we found ourselves going fairly last minute and loving every single second - a year ago I swore I would never return now can wait to and using the Dibb in Florida section for help and inspiration along the way is fun and educational . As in all things in life my motto is - If I didnt enjoy it I wouldnt use it |
