I find the whole who to tip and not to tip a bit confusing too, I’m paranoid I offend someone by not tipping them. When leaving luggage at bell services I would tip when collecting it but not when dropping it off (I hope this is correct). I usually avoid valet parking but it was the only option at a hotel we stayed at in Miami recently, I tipped the person who brought our car round for us.

Wow we learn something every day. Thought it was customary on the dibb to tip housekeeping.

In WDW housekeeping is officially a non-tipped position, meaning that there is no expectation of a tip, unlike restaurant staff where tips are expected.

Many people like to tip housekeeping and there are even templates online for ‘mousekeeping envelopes’. It’s up to individuals whether they want to do that.

Hmm. I never stay on site other than my first ever visit. I have never been ‘Mousekept’ and would have no idea of what is expected.

These days apparently you’re lucky if you see them at all…

Not just Florida but we tip housekeeping in other US hotels, we did in Boston in December.

You are very kind but I don't tip them and won't. I have read this over and over on the Dibb and never have.

You choice and mine neither are right or wrong

I don’t tip housekeeping. It’s not a tipped position. But if others want to tip them then that’s fine.

To the OP: when leaving bags with bell services, tip when picking up your bags from them. When someone helps with your bags and moves them to your room then tip them once they’ve finished.

Otherwise there no tip required when simply checking in at reception.

Which is fine if that’s what you want to do. Lots of other people do that as well. But housekeeping is usually not a tipped position in those other places either. Many other people don’t tip housekeeping.
