We are here now and have both. Only because we bought the 14 day tickets when Genie plus everyday was able to be added in advance.

We are at a busier time of year than you are going but I have been pleased we had Genie plus as well. Our DS has special needs and is scared of heights, rollercoaster and basically fearful of anything unknown he cannot see. DAS is great if the person with it is riding everything the rest of the party want to ride. I think it really depends on your party and who has the DAS. If the person with the DAS doesn’t want to ride you need to join the regular queue. The person with the DAS also has to scan in to each ride first before anyone else in the party can then it will allow the others to go through.

If our DS doesn’t want to ride something we are using Genie plus or the regular queuing system.

Here now and certainly found DAS on its own more than enough, no need for Genie+ here

Our son has autism and can’t queue for long and DAS has been amazing. Never more than 10 mins for a ride when our wait time was up, including Rise.

It’s been a god send for us as I think otherwise it would have made the trip a bit miserable for us.

Also here now and DAS has been brilliant. We got genie+ too on our first day (at HS) but wish we didn’t as we didn’t need to.

Question for you though, you mentioned there are 8 of you, did they provide DAS for 8 people? There are 7 of us and I've been seeing some thing that Disney are strictly enforcing the limit of 6?
Both my son and I qualify for DAS which is how we have 8 people together. The limit is 6 per DAS
